So, you wanna be a fire dancer, eh? Well let me tell you, it ain't as easy as it looks. You can't just jump right in and start spinning fiery balls all over the place. People get hurt. Things catch on fire. Children cry. It's not a pretty sight. I know, because I once fell for a girl who was a fire dancer, and I thought the only way she'd ever like me was if I could impress her with my own fiery moves. Well, there we were, a huge group of us out in the woods camping and having a blast. I saw my moment and went for it, despite having no idea what I was doing. I had taken a couple old softballs I found in the garage, attached some rope to them, and had them wrapped in some oily rags. I mean, that makes sense doesn't it? For good measure, I dipped them in some lantern fuel, set them ablaze, and started my dance. My eyes were closed as I spun and spun. I could only imagine the awe-struck faces of everyone around. I was in my own world, thinking how when I was done she'd be madly in love with me. That's when I heard the shouting and screaming. I opened my eyes to see that I was spinning two smoking pieces of rope, as the giant burning softballs had flown off and ignited two tents on fire. If that wasn't enough, the oily rags had flown in many different directions, with one lighting my dream girl's hair ablaze, leaving the right side of her head completely bald. Embarassed beyond belief, I packed my things and left, never to be invited to another of their gatherings again.
So take it from me—if you wanna be a fire dancer, start with these foam Poi Pois. The worst that can happen is you may knock over a picture frame or bonk yourself on the head.
